English Netherlands Antilles - Netherlands Antilles The Netherlands Antilles were part of the Lesser Antilles and consist of two groups of islands in the Caribbean Sea: Curaçao and Bonaire (just off the ► Venezuelan coast near ► Aruba), and ► Sint Eustatius, ► Saba and the ► southern part of Saint Martin Island (located southeast of the ► Virgin Islands and near ► Anguilla, ► Saint Kitts and Nevis and ► Guadeloupe). It has a border with France at ► Saint-Martin. The islands formed an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Netherlands Antilles dissolved on 10-10-2010. Two of the five islands areas became separate countries inside the kingdom: ► Curaçao and ► Sint Maarten, the other three islands became municipalities of the Netherlands.
