Category discussion warning

Unidentified Gorilla has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Pennisetum and Cenchrus

[edit]

Hello. Please note that most authorities now accept that these two genera are synonymous under Cenchrus. I am working through Wikispecies making the changes, however a handful of combinations are still comb. ined., but these are gradually declining. A full Reference List is available including primary and secondary sources. Best regards Andyboorman (talk) 09:43, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Unused Taxon Galleries?

[edit]

Hey, noticing that there are a lot of Taxon Galleries that are unmaintained, don't have much content and are in far worse shape the the Category Pages: https://petscan.wmflabs.org/?psid=26645568 -- that query looks at small taxon Galleries (less than 500 bytes and unedited since 2015). Redirecting them to the categories would be far more useful for readers. I am kindof new to working on the taxon stuff on Commons, where would be a good place to try to reach concensus on something like that?Sadads (talk) 13:14, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

taxon galleries are a bit outfashioned. They are now replaced by taxon categories Liné1 (talk) 15:45, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
