Mistake?

[edit]

Hi @Pols12, do you think I made any mistake here or just i18n'ed it in more convenient manner? ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:10, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@TheAafi: your edit is not a mistake, but it introduces some issues.
  • w: interwiki prefix leads to English Wikipedia. Translators may want to link another language Wikipedia. To still use tvar, I have drafted {{Localized Wikipedia page}} on Meta, but I don’t know whether an equivalent exists on Commons.
  • {{Pg}} allows to directly link a translation page (similar to Special:MyLanguage prefix). That being removed, links ever lead to English source page.

@Pols12, looks something complex to me at this moment perhaps because I have worked a lot throughout the day. I'd be grateful if you could help in addressing these issues. I remember using lwp elsewhere and it was reverted, "this should be localised wherever possible". I'd still like to learn more things from you concerning this. ─ The Aafī (talk) 13:00, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for this late answer.
To clarify my comment: I would revert your edit, since it only introduces some issues. About using Pg and Lwp templates, a community discussion is needed. On Meta-Wiki, I have drafted Meta:Internationalization guidelines and notice translation admins to only keep consensual items. A similar document is probably needed on Commons (or it may already exist, I don’t know).

File:Aragon - Anicet ou le Panorama, 1921.djvu has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
