I noticed that you uploaded a file using the same name as another file, which already existed on Commons. Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor, uncontroversial corrections, so the file has been restored to its previous version. If the file that you attempted to upload is within our project scope and is in the public domain or published under a free license, please upload it again under a different name. Thank you. For more information, please see Commons:Overwriting files.

Pronunciation file names

[edit]

Please use language code prefix for pronunciation file names. See Category:French pronunciation for examples. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:15, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Supevan, I've come to make the same request. For example, File:NB - Pronunciation of Norwegian Bokmål «absorpsjonsevnen».ogg should just be named File:nb-absorpsjonsevnen.ogg. Ultimateria (talk) 21:40, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you. I will do that from now on! Supevan (talk) 08:20, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Also, audio files named this way are automatically imported to Wiktionary by User:DerbethBot, so you don't have to add them manually. Ultimateria (talk) 18:38, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! That sounds interesting, could you tell me more about how that works? I am not so familiar with it, will my audios be uploaded automatically to the Wiktionary entries from now on? When does that happen? Thank you! :-) Supevan (talk) 20:06, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
